GSDMSFI Celebrates 23RD Foundation Anniversary, Kicks Off ASEAN Month Celebration

The General Santos Doctors’ Medical School Foundation, Inc. (GSDMSFI) celebrated its 23rd Foundation Anniversary on August 13, 2026, with the theme, “23 Years of Commitment: Shaping Bright Minds, Skilled Hands, and Compassionate Hearts.”

The celebration highlighted more than two decades of GSDMSFI’s commitment to academic excellence, skills development, and compassionate service. In conjunction with the anniversary, the institution also officially launched its ASEAN Month Celebration through the unveiling of its Calendar of Activities, promoting greater awareness and appreciation of ASEAN identity, culture, and cooperation.

Leading the celebration were members of the GSDMSFI Board of Trustees and administration, headed by Dr. Daniel G. Yap, President; Dr. Mario Y. Dideles, Vice President for Academic and Administration; Mr. Mark Oliver G. Maduramente, CPA, Treasurer and Head of Finance; Ms. Resurreccion C. Valencia, School Administrator; Dr. Grace Joy G. Nietes, RN, College Dean and Assistant Vice President for Academics; and Ms. Jenny Marie C. Padilla, Assistant School Administrator.

Representatives from GSDMSFI’s partner institutions also joined the occasion, including Dr. George P. Royeca Hospital, General Santos Doctors Hospital, Udagri Integrated School, and BLGU Dadiangas West, underscoring the institution’s strong partnerships with the community and allied organizations.

As part of the celebration and its continuing commitment to community service, GSDMSFI also formally endorsed two brand-new heavy-duty weighing scales to the Barangay Health Center of Dadiangas West to support its health and wellness programs for the community. In addition, GSDMSFI also strengthened its community involvement through a scholarship contract signing at Udagri integrated school in the afternoon. Part of this activity is the distribution of school supplies and rice and a cultural dance performance from the GSDMSFI students and an ASEAN quiz.

As GSDMSFI enters another year of service, the institution remains steadfast in its mission of shaping bright minds, skilled hands, and compassionate hearts while strengthening partnerships that contribute to a healthier and more empowered community.
