GSDMSFI First-Year Medical Technology Students Launch Community Involvement Service Program

The first-year Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology students of General Santos Doctors’ Medical School Foundation, Inc. (GSDMSFI) officially launched their Community Involvement Service Program for the first semester, marking an important milestone in their academic and professional development.

As part of the initiative, students visited partner communities to conduct health education sessions focused on three key areas: basic hygiene and sanitation, proper nutrition and its role in maintaining overall health, and responsible waste management practices. The activities aimed to strengthen community awareness of disease prevention and promote sustainable health habits among residents.

Through interactive demonstrations, information-sharing, and community engagement, the students provided practical insights into maintaining personal and environmental health—reinforcing the essential role of preventive healthcare in improving quality of life.

The program not only contributed to the health and well-being of the community but also offered students valuable hands-on exposure to public health outreach. This experience enhances their competencies in communication, community engagement, and health advocacy—skills vital to their future roles as allied health professionals.

The initiative reflects GSDMSFI’s commitment to molding service-oriented healthcare practitioners who uphold excellence, compassion, and social responsibility in their practice.
